I’d go with Maui. It offers you an urban setting like Oahu, while at the same time rural aspects like Kauai.
Try paddle boarding (aka upright paddling) while you’re there. If you don’t want to fly, you can also catch the superferry to Oahu for a day and ride it back in the evening.
Haleakala and the surrounding park is a beautiful area.

Hawaii is full of amazing locations to visit anytime of year. People appreciate Maui as it provides enjoyment and activities that are world-class. Things that you can checkout include great nightlife, top quality restaurants, people-watching, jet-skiing and most important learning how to surf. When it comes down to staying there, getting a place close to the beach usually is a little more expensive, then inland accomdation. Checkout.

Don’t do island hopping. It’s not possible in one day, besides, that’s too stressful.
You have either the following
-Maui
-Kaui
-Big Island
-Molokai
Note that the Big Island is big for a reason: it takes a lot of time to get anywhere. Maui is amazing while Kauai is just beautiful. Molokai is a mix of old and new Hawaii.

okay, if you want the true feel of the hawaiian spirit, i would go to either Kauai or the big island (where i live), both are away from the fake hawaiian scene that you haole’s have made for us, especially in waikiki, it makes me sick to go there.
