Waikiki on the cheap?

My wife and I are traveling to Oahu the last week of April ’07 for 7 nights. We are looking for an inexpensive hotel, under $100/night, that isn’t a dump, and is within walking distance to Waikiki activities. It’s our first time there, but we both agree that if we want an ocean view, we can get it when we visit the beach. Any ideas?

I searched on orbitz cheapest one I found was a three star for 82 dollars, minutes fomr the Beach. Those travel sites will be your best friend if you are going to Oahu.

Royal Grove- Rates from$45 a night very quaint small place 2 blocks from the beach
Aston Coral Reef Hotel- Rates from $88 per night
Waikiki Sand Villa- It is not fancy and it is on the Ala Wai canal, but it is clean and the price is very reasonable. Depending on the time of year the rates range from $89-$115 for a standard room.
