Oahu – is there a bus from Waikiki to Waymanalo Beach Park and Dole Plantation?

A. K asked:

We’ll be staying in the Hilton Village in Waikiki without renting a car. Close to Waymanalo Beach (not sure the spelling is correct) there is this little food place that has the best luau pork I’ve ever had.
Do you know if there is a public transport that could take us there?
Also, is there a bus to the Dole Plantation?
Thank you.

There is certainly a way for you to get to Waimanalo Beach Park and Dole Plantation from Waikiki if you’re willing to take a long bus ride.

The place you’re talking about near Waimanalo Beach Park is Keneke’s. They have the best food there and they give large portions for very small prices.

You can get to Keneke’s via the route attached below. You can get more accurate timeschedules and route information at as well as cost information.

As far as Dole Plantation goes, you can get there via TheBus via this routing. Once again, timeschedule and more accurate details can be found on.

Just a little more information to what soccerref gave you.
For Waimanalo, you can catch the bus right in Waikiki, almost right in front of the HHV. Route 23 (Hawaii Kai-Sea Life Park) will take you through Waikiki, into East O’ahu and around Makapu’u point. There is a brief stop at Sea Life Park. Double check with the driver, because some buses turn around and go back into Waikiki, but most continue on into Waimanalo. From Sea Life Park, it is only another 15 minutes to Keneke’s.

For Dole Plantation, you need to catch a bus to Ala Moana, there are several. Once you are at Ala Moana, you need to transfer to a route 52 (Wahiawa-Circle Island). I believe the bus stops right in front of the plantation, just ask the driver.

You can check The Buses website for route schedules and maps.
