The ceremony you are asking about happens at Ala Moana Beach Park &amp; I do believe Bitter is correct about it being Buddhist in origin, but according to the web site below, it is not a Buddist thing, &quot;it&#039;s a human thing&quot;..  It is a very beautiful ceremony.  I have never been, but it is covered each year by the local news.  Typically, holidays are pretty crowded, but tourism is off significantly this year, so it might not be too bad.</description>
