Hurricane Season in Hawaii is from beginning June til end of November. I wouldn’t give to much thought to that though.
As far as Waikiki being rocky, it is…(in the water not the actual beach)Solution: Water/Reef shoes…you can find them at some ABC stores(on every corner in Waikiki) and in most Hotel Shoppes (we bought ours in one of our Hotel Shoppes in the Outrigger Waikiki…around $20.00 a pair…I’m sure you can find them cheaper elsewhere) you’re not going to find completely Rockless Beaches, but here are a couple sites to check out…

Waikiki is one of the safest beaches in the state. It’s not rocky, it mostly has a ring of reef a bit out and sometimes is enclosed in rock walls.
The state is a giant rock. Every beach will have some rocks. If you’re worried about beach safety, don’t go during winter, that’s when the biggest swells are. (north side) and don’t swim early morning or past dusk.
There hasn’t been a hurricane in 14 years. So I wouldn’t worry about that.
