Are there convenience stores within walking distance of Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel in Hawaii?
coldcity80 asked:
My wife and I are planning a trip to Hawaii and staying at Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel (formerly ResortQuest). Are there any convenience stores within walking distance of this hotel? We will be on an “organized vacation budget” and will be looking for a Walgreen’s, for example.

You won’t find a Walgreen’s in Waikiki, but there is one by Ala Moana. As for convinience stores there are ABC Stores everywhere in Waikiki.

It may be better to ask, what exactly do you want to purchase? An organized vacation budget could mean you are planning some cheap meals or just snacks. I found the ABC stores lacking in the way of quick ‘cheap’ meals. If you can find your way to a Foodland, Safeway, or other full service grocery store, you should be able to find those sort of items. It wont be as cheap as at home, but it will be better than the outrageous prices paid at restaurants on/near Waikiki.

ABC stores are only for tourists with money to blow….look for Costco, cheaper better too

Okay, here’s what you want to do.
ABC is expensive, so it is convienent, but pricey.
Food Pantry is in Waikiki, but also expensive.
Best bet, ask the hotel person how to get to Safeway on Kapahulu by bus (you could actually walk there in about 30 minutes or so, but might get tired with groceries). It’s is a really nice supermarket with everything. If you are able, sign up for their card to get the Safeway Card price.
