Take care of them so they last longer
In the event you visited the trouble of saving money for expensive appliances you must work to take care of them so they really last so long as possible. Neglect is dangerous and can make your appliances conk out far more quickly. Here are a few quick tips.
1. Clean your soapy buildup as part of your washer by running an empty cycle with just warm water and vinegar. No detergent. The vinegar could damage the machine in huge amounts due to the acidity, but small amounts and relatively infrequent use should do more good than harm.
2. On your clothes dryer, you must keep the lint screen cleaned out. It’s a fire hazard to possess that much lint in there plus it causes the device to your workplace harder than necessary this wastes energy. You must even go so far as to wipe the screen with soap and water every number of weeks. Bet you didn’t understand that.
3. When you have a clothes iron instead of a garment steamer remember to be only running clean water through it (same rule for garment steamers, too). Use sterilized water if possible and drain out the excess water after each use. If you happen to scratch the iron plate be mindful. It will eventually damage (snag) your clothes and cause tears. You’ll be able to sand down the dish with sandpaper. Use extra fine grade. When the scratches are bad you’ll have to get a fresh iron, though.
Do your best to care for what we have and keep it clean and working efficiently. Get appliance checkups occasionally to be sure everything is alright and replace any worn parts to be in advance of disaster.
