Reduce Inflammation With Serrapeptase
Serrapeptase is a proteolytic enzyme (protein-digesting enzyme) isolated from the micro-organism, Serratia E15. This enzyme is naturally present in the silkworm intestine and is processed commercially today through fermentation. This immunologically active enzyme is completely bound to the alpha 2 macroglobulin in biological fluids. Histologic studies reveal powerful anti-inflammatory effects of this naturally occurring enzyme.
Serrapeptase enzyme is a common treatment for inflammatory and traumatic swellings. A double-blind study was conducted to determine the effect of Serrapeptase on post-operative swelling and pain. Sixty-six patients were treated surgically for fresh rupture of a ligament in the knee. The group receiving Serrapeptase exhibited a 50% reduction of swelling, compared to the other group. The patients receiving Serrapeptase also became more rapidly pain-free.
Hans Nieper, a German doctor and scientist, discovered this natural enzyme over 20 years ago. It has been used in both Japan and Europe for several years as a natural alternative for pain relief but was not introduced into the U.S. until 2002. Much of Nieper’s research with serrapeptase was with clogged arteries. He discovered that only a small amount, if taken every day for 18 months, would complete the healing of clogged arteries and they would be almost entirely clear.
Further research has been done, primarily in Japan, and they have discovered that serrapeptase safely dissolves away any dead tissue anywhere in the body and this naturally causes less pain and in many cases no more pain. Once the tissue is dissolved it is disposed of through the body’s normal channels.
If you have an inflammatory condition like arthritis, sinusitis, fibrocystic breasts or you regularly take pain medication such as aspirin or NSAID’s then a trial with Serrapeptase is highly recommended. If you have known cardiovascular disease then it is prudent to discuss Serrapeptase with your physician so that your progress can be monitored. If a decision is made to use Serrapeptase, it can be used in conjunction with EDTA chelation therapy and may enhance the outcome. At least 10 mg of Serrapeptase daily is recommended for anyone over the age of 40 years who is interested in preventing arterial plaques.
The recommended dose range for Serrapeptase is 10 to 30 mg per day and for prevention, 10 mg daily. For arthritis, sinusitis, fibrocystic breast, bronchitis, and cardiovascular problems, 20 mg daily. For pain use 10 to 20 mg daily, starting with 10 mg and working up to 20 mg daily. For injury, trauma or post surgery recovery use 30 mg daily for 2 days then drop to 20 mg daily until swelling and pain is resolved.
As we age we experience some profound alterations in the flesh, blood and bones that make up our bodies. Age brings potential inflammation, pain, arterial deposits and a host of other unwelcome changes. It is not often that a compound like Serrapeptase becomes available that can legitimately address so many health concerns. This enzyme is very powerful in very small doses and relatively inexpensive. We highly recommend a 3 month trial for anyone over the age of 40 years.
Serrapeptase enzyme comes in mostly in enteric capsule form. It is important to purchase an enteric coated product so that the digestive tract doesn’t destroy the enzyme before it hits the intestinal tract where it can go to work. Look for this wonderful enzyme at your local or internet health food store.
